Show home winter trends
With winter firmly here, now is the perfect time to consider how to make your space as cosy as possible. Many of our property clients are looking for ways to make their show homes more inviting during the colder season and here are just some of the tips we’ve been sharing:
Placing cushions, pictures, rugs, blankets and throws strategically around your show home can create a warm, comfortable winter environment. By layering the blankets and throws on sofas, beds and armchairs you can add a cosy textured feel for potential homebuyers. For artwork and soft furnishings, think warm hues like reds, burnt oranges and yellows added to a neutral colour scheme to draw people in from the cold.
Use softer bulbs to add warmth to your show home as the nights get longer and darker. A strategically placed floor lamp can create an ambient mix of warm light and shadows while candles are also a great way of spreading comforting light and shade throughout a room – you can even try a winter scented candle to evoke the senses and help potential buyers imagine their life within the space.
Natural materials bring the outside in and add a sense of warmth. Think rustic wooden pieces of furniture, chopped logs or draw attention to wooden features such as mantle pieces and balustrades. You could even carve out a reading nook – with an armchair in a cosy corner, along with a floor lamp to spread light and pile up some a selection of books to inspire potential buyers. Add a warm throw and footrest for the ultimate reading/homeworking space.
Winter mood boards
We work with developers and housebuilders across the UK to bring show homes to life.
A big part of the process for creating a show home that wows is understanding both buyer and seasonal trends; a well designed show home should be seasonal for maximum impact. Here’s a recent winter mood board we’ve put together to inspire your winter show home interiors:
